In July 2017 Hamburg hosted the twelfth G20 Summit. More than twenty heads of State came together to discuss about economic growth, international and financial trade regulations. Anti-capitalist protestors from all across Europe came together to take part in the anti G20 protests. Protests turned violent after clashes between police and protestors erupted the „Welcome to Hell“ protest march that was organized by Left-wing groups from Germany. It was the beginning of riots that at least last for three days and nights. Demonstrators set a series of bonfires, looted shops and stacked up blocks of pavement to use as weapons, while the German police fired water canons on protestors and used teargas and setting off flash-bang grenades. During the protests more than 100 demonstrators were arrested.
